October Activities – Vancouver

As it starts to get darker earlier and the rain becomes more frequent, Vancouverites bundle up and look for some fun autumn activities. Luckily our students don’t have to look any further than our October Activity Calendar!

We’ll start off the month with a movie date with your fellow classmates and Senior Teacher Kent. With three theatres within walking distance to Eurocentres Vancouver, this is a nice indoor activity that can help you practice your English listening skills.

Our monthly Conversation Club will also take place and give students a chance to chat informally with classmates and Senior Teacher Ryan at a nearby café. One of our other Senior Teachers will also take the students for crepes on Robson Street too. Sampling Vancouver’s international cuisine and extra English practice? Sign us up!

For all of our athletes, don’t worry we still have some activities scheduled even though we’ll have to move the sports indoors now. If you want to try out indoor rock climbing, now is your chance! A group of us will head over to the nearest gym later on in the month. Also, the NHL hockey season officially begins and we have tickets to the Vancouver Canucks game against the Edmonton Oilers. This is a perfect oppourtunity to watch Canada’s favourite sport.

October also brings lots of Halloween events to our city and Eurocentres Vancouver encourages students to get in the spirit. Join the Lost Souls of Gastown tour to experience Vancouver’s Gastown neighbourhood as you never have before or sign up to take the Halloween train through Stanley Park and watch as the normally tranquil forest is transformed into a spooky setting. The week before Halloween students will also have the chance to carve their own pumpkins in the lounge and challenge their friends to see who has the best carving. Lastly, we’re excited to announce our annual Halloween Costume Competition will take place again this year with some cool prizes up for grabs.

We’re excited about this month’s activity program and encourage all students to participate. Activity Calendars and more information can be found at the front desk and in each classroom.
