The Christmas Parade

Santa Claus

As the snow was blowing on Sunday November 18th, our students were treated to a 114-year-old Toronto tradition.  The Santa Claus Parade is an annual event that features festive holiday floats in order to ring in the holiday season in the city.  These include marching bands, reindeer, dancers and even Santa Claus himself!  Torontonians sure know how to kick off the holiday season with excitement.  Since this year was the largest parade in history, our students were able to enjoy all the floats passing by on their 5.6 km journey.

The parade started from Christie Station on Bloor Street and travelled all the down University Avenue which is a few blocks away from Eurocentres Toronto.  No matter where our students were located in the city, most were able to view this spectacle.  Many students who thought this event was not for them, reported that they were amazed at the creativity and energy of the celebration.  We would like to welcome all our new and returning students into the holiday season.

Also, Toronto has opened its famous Christmas Market in the Distillery District.  We hope all our students stay warm and can festively ring in the holiday season.
